Patient Preparation:
- Patient should not have urinated for at least 1 hour prior to specimen collection.
- Wash hand but avoid cleaning urinary opening areas before collection.
- Begin urinating, fill cup up with 15-20mL of "Dirty" (first catch) urine and stop urinating.
- Finish urinating in toilet.
Specimen Type:

Preferred: Female and male urine- Aptima Urine Collection Kit.

Acceptable: Female and male urine collected in sterile container.
Minimum Volume:
- 15mL (Urine must be able to fill Aptima Urine Collection Kit tube between black line window.
Reject Due To:
- Urine under or overfilled (must be between black lines.)

Specimen does not meet collection, storage, or transport requirements.
