Collection Information: Plasma/Green Top (Heparin) or Lavender Top (EDTA) 5.0 ml Blood. Centrifuge specimen as soon as possible. Separate plasma from cells as soon as centrifugation is complete.
Plasma Gel tubes are acceptable.
Transport Information: 3.0 mL Plasma refrigerated.
Remarks: Drawing blood specimens for plasma hemoglobin measurement should be done with considerable care to avoid causing hemolysis.
