Refrigerated. Sterile container with a secure lid.

Microscopic analysis indicated for the following:

1. Clarity:  Cloudy or Turbid
2. Nitrite:  Positive
3. Leukocyte Esterase: greater than 25 µl
4. Protein:  equal to or greater than 100mg/dL
5. RBC >25

If criteria is met, a urine culture will reflex:

1. If Nitrites are Positive on the macroscopic analysis, AND >10 WBC's are seen on the microscopic analysis.

OR

2. If Leukocyte Esterase is MOD or LARGE on the macroscopic analysis, AND >10 WBC's are seen on the microscopic analysis.
