Stability

Specimen stability and storage: 

The test must be set up within four hours if unrefrigerated.  Specimen may be refrigerated for up to 12 hours.

Criteria for unacceptable specimen: 

a.            Any specimen not collected in an EDTA tube.

b.            Specimens over 4 hours at room temperature.

c.             Clotted, hemolyzed, and/or lipemic specimens.
